Electric Vehicle Support

"Installing the Future Today"

Electric Vehicle Support is a division of Puget Sound Solar LLC.  We are a Washington General Electrical and General Construction contractor whose involvement in renewable energy quite naturally led to the use of electric transportation because the 'fuel' can come from the sun, for free.

Transportation is one of the most inefficient energy use sectors in the U.S., wasting 80% of energy as heat, and releasing millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.  Vehicle owners can directly reduce this waste and carbon footprint by driving electric, rather than gas-powered cars.  We are all about making that happen as much and as soon as possible.

Jeremy Smithson    -      If you count scooters and e-bikes, Jeremy has been using electric vehicles since 2003.  He has been an owner and driver of an electric car since 2006 and an electric pickup truck since 2007.  Each of those vehicles came with Level II charging stations for quick charging.  For the past 7 years he has been a tireless proponent of transportation electrification; as an electrical and solar contractor it made sense for him to form a company dedicated to helping current and future EV owners to plug in.

Pamela Burton, co-owner of EV Support, purchased her 1997 Solectria Force sedan in early 2006.  Since then she has enjoyed not having to stop at any gas stations and has fueled her vehicle with the output of the solar electric system she purchased in 2005.  Pam has a stated preference for hassle-free EV driving and charging, and her customer service skills have made her an invaluable asset to our company, keeping the process smooth and painless.

Ivan Workman, EVSE Specialist, is our first employee dedicated to the Electric Vehicle Support division.  We met at a meeting of the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association and it was immediately apparent that he had some depth of experience in a transportation technology that has been scarce at best.  To have 12 years of EV experience at age 28 is a feat in itself, but to have done so in the near-absence of a market for EVs is remarkable.
We have not been disappointed, he has spearheaded our effort to get established in the EV support service industry with knowledge and gusto, sorting out the players in this new field and creating relationships that will ultimately translate into value for our customers.  Ivan is familiar with EV driving and driver issues as few others are; he has over 150,000 miles of driving various EVs for evaluation by Southern California Edison in their electric transportation division.  He has encountered every possible problem with the first generation of public EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) and has a keen eye for what works and what doesn't.  We're glad to have Ivan on the team.
